One of our many Basque translators is Isolda
From San Sebastian in the Basque-Spanish country, Isolda has been lucky to grow up in an environment so rich in languages which she took for granted until later in life. At university she studied a mixture of classic and modern languages, specialising in Basque translation for International Affairs. These studies led to Isolda’s successful employment serving numerous purposes from simultaneous interpreting at the International Film Festival of San Sebastian to translating technical and scientific manuals and articles relating to aviation. Isolda is interested in politics and she is a founder member of several social concern groups in her community.
The Basque Language
It has eight distinct dialects and comes from debatable origins. Some scholars claim it originates from the Aquitanian language, but others believe it is similar to languages spoken anciently in Asian minor and that it stems from that location. Whatever the case may be, Basque is certainly not an Indo-European language and has no other language with which it has an established relationship.
