The Marwaris are an Indian ethnic group originating from the Rajasthan region of India. Their language – Marwari – is the official language of the Rajasthan state and is also widely used in the neighbouring states of Gujarat, Haryana, and eastern parts of Pakistan. Spoken by 7.8 million people natively, it’s an Indian tongue you just cannot ignore! And you don’t have to, because we can provide you with Marwari translation services to support your business objectives across a broad range of sectors, including legal, economic, medical, business, and Media, which in India is dominated by the Marwari community.
Language and communication in the region of Marwari is known for being deeply embedded within their culture, and although Marwari is the most spoken language in the group of Indo-Aryan languages of Rajasthan, it may surprise you to discover it has not yet been given official status as a language of education or government. With around 23 dialects of the Marwari language, plus a further two variations in Pakistan, it is a hugely difficult language to understand and translate. That's why we employ only native Marwari linguists, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience who we then match to your specific subject matter. Certified to ISO 17100: 2015, you can rest assured that your Marwari language translators have the relevant experience, qualifications, and background to provide you with an exceptionally accurate Marwari translation service.

The Marwari language is sometimes seen as a dialect of Rajasthani, but it is more frequently considered to be an independent language belonging to the Western Indo-Aryan branch. In countries outside of India, the language is known by a variety of names including “Marwari,” “Jejuri,” and “Western Rajasthani.” Of the 142 languages in India, Marwari is one of the most notable. Thanks to its deep roots in history and culture, it is an important language in understanding various ways of living in Rajasthan.
The Marwari language is written in Sanskrit called Devnagri. The letters are 'joined' together to write the words and it features just consonants and no vowels. The Perso-Arabic script is the script for Marwari in Pakistan. The Devnagri script is used in the Northwest Indian state of Rajasthan for administrative official documents and financial transaction records.
A community of entrepreneurs, the Marwaris are distinguished by their enterprise, resilience, and commercial success. Belonging to an Indian state steep in history and famous for their royal and tribal communities, the Marwaris have been instrumental in the evolution of Indian trade and commerce. The world-famous business families from Rajasthan include the Birlas, Sarafs, Poddars, Modys, Bajajs, Oswals, Goenkas and many more.
group of Indo-Aryan languages of Rajasthan. It has many common phonetic, pronunciation, and grammatical aspects with the Hindi language and Marwari interrogatives (words like who, what, why, where) are also very similar to those of Hindi. However, Marwari communication has its own set of verbal communication principles. Although it shares some phonological similarities with the Hindi language, there are often tonal changes in pronouns and interrogatives, which can change based on content.
