HOW TO BECOME A LEGAL TRANSLATOR UK?

If you want to translate professionally in the UK, there are a few routes open to you. The first is to become a Chartered Linguist. To obtain this status, you'd need to demonstrate that you have at least five years' experience as a translator, hold an IoLET Diploma, MA or MSc in translation, and commit yourself to continuous professional development (CPD).

Another way to become a recognised translator in the UK is through the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI). When going down this route, you must first pass an entrance exam which is designed to evaluate your language skills. You must also be able to provide professional references to show you have at least three years' experience as a translator.
