We analyse each file and apply a repetition discount of up to 70% on content that recurs, so you are not charged in full for text that appears more than once. For repeat clients, we build a translation memory that reuses previously approved wording, which keeps your terminology consistent and reduces cost on future work. Both are confirmed in your quote once we have analysed the file, because the exact saving depends on how much genuine repetition your document contains.

New customers can receive an introductory discount from 5%, and up to 15% on some projects. Regular and priority customers receive a 10% discount. We also offer volume discounts on larger projects. These are confirmed in your quote rather than applied automatically, as they depend on the project and your account.

Clean, editable files such as Word usually carry no formatting charge, because we work directly in them. Desktop publishing applies to non-editable or layout-heavy files, such as scanned PDFs, technical drawings, brochures, magazines and design files. It starts from £6 per page for European languages and £8 per page for other languages, with scaling discounts on projects over 20 pages. Right-to-left and expanding languages often need more layout work, and our language-specialist team can also flag imagery, colours or symbols that may not suit the target market before delivery.

Most languages are priced per word in the same way. Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai are counted per character instead, since they are written without spaces between words; for pricing, roughly one character equals one word. Some languages also expand when translated, so a source text can produce a noticeably larger translated document. A professional human translator handles roughly 3,000 to 3,500 words a day. On larger projects we can go faster by splitting the work across translators who share a glossary and translation memory, with a final single-linguist check for consistency. Adding the second-linguist proofreading stage in the Premium tier adds around 30% more time, though on longer documents proofreading can run almost in parallel with translation.
