Certified adoption certificate translation

A certified adoption certificate translation is an official translation of your adoption certificate or adoption order, accompanied by a signed statement confirming it is a true and accurate rendering of the original. At Absolute Translations we translate and certify adoption documents for use with UK and overseas authorities, including the Home Office and UKVI, the Passport Office, HM Courts and UK universities. Prices start from £29 per document, including the translation, the certification and VAT, and because an adoption certificate is usually short, many can be certified the same day.

adoption Certified translation with signed statement and official company stamp

What's included in your certified adoption certificate translation

Every certified adoption certificate translation includes the translation itself, a signed and dated certification statement on our letterhead, and our official company stamp, which is what makes it a certified translation the authorities accept. We are an established UK translation company, the first in the UK to achieve ISO 17100, with over twenty years of experience translating official records for individuals and families. You receive a copy by email, and we also send a posted certified copy, because not all authorities accept a digital email certification. Every document is handled securely and in line with GDPR.

adoption certified money back guarantee at absolute translations

Accepted by UK authorities, guaranteed

Our certified adoption certificate translations are produced to be accepted by UK authorities and by many overseas bodies. Families rely on us for documents going to the Home Office and UKVI for a child's citizenship or immigration application, the Passport Office for a first passport in the child's adoptive name, HM Courts where an adoption is registered or recognised, and universities and local authorities that ask for proof of parentage. Tell us which body will receive the translation and we recommend and set the right level of certification. We then back that recommendation with a money-back guarantee: if you take the option we recommend and the receiving authority does not accept it, or later changes what it requires, we will either put it right at no cost or refund you in full, provided we have the authority's decision in writing.

Linking your child's identity before and after the adoption

An adoption certificate records a change of legal identity, often a new surname, new forenames and new legal parents, so the single most important job is making sure the translated certificate reconciles with the child's other documents. We reproduce both the pre-adoption and the post-adoption names exactly as they appear, along with the adoption date, the court or authority that made the order and any reference numbers, and where it helps we add a short translator's note that links the original identity to the adoptive one. This matters because a passport or citizenship application often places the adoption certificate next to an original birth certificate that shows a different name, and a clear, consistent set of translations prevents the query or rejection that a mismatch would otherwise cause.

Adoption certificates used abroad, and the adoption order

If the adoption is being recognised or registered in another country, the receiving authority frequently asks for the full adoption order or court decree as well as the certificate, and for the translation to be legalised. We can translate and certify the certificate and the related adoption order together, and where a document is going to a country in the Hague Convention we can arrange an apostille, from £85, which covers the FCDO legalisation fee and secure courier. Tell us the destination country and we will confirm which documents and which level of legalisation that country requires before we begin.

What a certified adoption certificate translation costs

Certified adoption certificate translation starts from £29 per document, including the translation, the certification and VAT; additional pages, where a document runs to more than one, are from £26 for most languages. If notarisation is required, our in-house notary usually completes this the same day; an apostille, from £85, legalises the document for use in another Hague Convention country. Your exact price depends on the language pair, the number of pages and the level of certification. Upload your adoption certificate for a fixed quote, or see our certified translation prices for a full breakdown.

How fast can you get it?

Most certified adoption certificate translations are ready within one to two working days, and because the certificate itself is usually short, same-day certification is available on request more often than for longer, multi-page court files. We offer both a standard and an express service; the turnaround reflects the length of the document, the language pair and the level of certification. When you upload your certificate, tell us your deadline and we will confirm a delivery date before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Certified adoption certificate translation at Absolute Translations starts from £29 per document, including the translation, the certification and VAT; additional pages, where needed, are from £26 for most languages. Because adoption certificates are usually short, most orders sit at the base price. Your final figure depends on the language pair, whether the adoption order is translated alongside the certificate, and whether you also need notarisation or an apostille. Upload the document for a fixed quote, or first see how our certified pricing works.

Most certified adoption certificate translations are ready within one to two working days, and a single short certificate can often be certified the same day on request. Turnaround depends on the language pair, the level of certification and whether the full adoption order is being translated as well, which adds length. Tell us your deadline when you upload the document and we will confirm a delivery date before you order, so an immigration or passport cut-off is never a guess.

Yes. Our certified adoption certificate translations are produced to be accepted by UK authorities including the Home Office and UKVI, the Passport Office, HM Courts and UK universities, each carrying our signed certification statement and official company stamp. We back it with a money-back guarantee: take the certification level we recommend and, if the receiving authority does not accept it in writing, or changes what it requires, we will put it right at no cost or refund you in full. Tell us the receiving body and we set the certification to the level it expects.

Both the original and the adoptive names are reproduced exactly as they appear on the certificate, together with the adoption date, the court or authority that made the order and any reference numbers. Where it helps the receiving body, we add a short translator's note that links the pre-adoption and post-adoption identity, which is useful when the adoption certificate is submitted alongside an original birth certificate showing a different name. This keeps a passport, citizenship or school application consistent and avoids the query a name change can otherwise trigger.

It depends on the destination. Many overseas authorities ask for the full adoption order or court decree as well as the adoption certificate, and for the translation to be legalised with an apostille for Hague Convention countries or through consular legalisation for others. We can translate and certify the certificate and the adoption order together, and arrange the apostille, from £85, where it is required. Tell us the country the documents are going to when you upload them and we will confirm exactly what that authority needs before we start.
