Spanish is an official language in Spain and across Latin America, and civil documents differ from country to country, so matching the document to its origin matters. A Spanish birth certificate is a certificado de nacimiento, issued as a full literal copy or a shorter extracto, and families often hold a Libro de Familia recording the household; Latin American civil registries issue their own equivalents. We translate the whole document exactly, including registry references, official stamps and signatures, we match the variety of Spanish to the document's country, and we flag anything illegible rather than guess at it. Using UK documents in Spain

If you need a UK document accepted in Spain, the Spanish authority usually asks for a sworn translation, a traducción jurada produced by a translator officially appointed by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (the MAEC). Separately, the UK original may need an apostille, which authenticates the UK signature or seal on the document, since both the UK and Spain belong to the Hague Apostille Convention. An apostille does not replace the translation, and some authorities ask for both. The right combination depends on the receiving authority, so tell us the Spanish body and what it has asked for, and we will confirm exactly what is required and arrange the apostille, from £85, where it is needed.
