Armenian script is not the same as Turkish script though they are often confused as for roughly 250 years, more than 2,000 books in the Turkish language were printed using the Armenian alphabet.

Armenian script is often found in historical documents used alongside the Arabic script in official documents of the Ottoman Empire written in Ottoman.

In places where both Armenians and Assyrians have lived, texts can sometimes be found written in Armenian script, which is why it is important for researchers to have professional translators with local cultural knowledge to ensure accurate translation.

When transcribing Armenian speakers, the Western Armenia dialect has many tonal similarities to Arabic and Turkish speakers, which is why you should always use a native speaker to transcribe Armenian speakers.

There are two standardized forms of the Armenian language: Western Armenian and Eastern Armenian.

This is because, after World War I, The Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic used Eastern Armenian as its official language, whereas displaced communities after the Armenian genocide preserved the Western Armenian dialect.

As Armenian isn’t closely related to any other languages and has several dialects it is one of the harder languages to accurately transcribe and translate into other languages.

To ensure accuracy you should always use a native speaker who is also an expert linguist to carry out your transcriptions.

In addition to this, the Armenian language is considered to be an endangered language by UNESCO classification as it has challenges faced by many other minority languages in Europe, that is why it is so crucial to ensure accurate transcription when preserving the language and transcribing the stories of Armenian people.

Armenian is written in its own alphabet, which originally had 36 letters, but three more were added into the language in the 12th century and, interestingly, the language has totally different punctuation marks than any other Western language.
